INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - The Hoopbus, a non-profit organization that travels the country in a renovated school bus building community through basketball, is proud to announce its WNBA All-Star Weekend Celebration: Show Indy Love.

This year's event will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 13-19, 2025

Hoopbus is Goin’ Back to indiana - for the WNBA

Join us in celebrating Show Indy Love, Pt. 2, — a week dedicated to homegrown pride, youth empowerment and lots of hoops. From court makeovers to youth clinics, we're on a mission to spread light from the Westside to the Eastside with programs and moments that uplift and unite our Indiana family as the WNBA All Star Game comes to town.

Be apart of the movement by riding with us over 5 days of programming — as we get buckets in barn courts, host tournaments, skills clinics and PE takeovers with Indy’s brightest MVCs (Most Valuable Characters), and pay visits to old friends at block parties. The week will come to a close at Willard Park for a youth clinic, court unveiling and a 3v3 tournament (RSVP below).

With a spotlight on the next generation — we’re honored to serve Indiana and celebrate the legacy of this historic basketball state.

The barn

The hoop in the McFarland family barn has seen generations of hoopers and is a testament to the rich basketball culture in Indiana.

Hay and straw line the walls of the barn, used practically by the McFarland’s for feed and industry, but don’t let the work distract from the play! In the middle of this 19th century barn is a hoop and a ball, ready for use at all times of the day.

“Painting” love: The STory Behind Willard Park

Willard Park, established in 1913 on the original site of the Indiana School for the Deaf, reflects Indianapolis’s community spirit and history. Named after school founder William Willard, it now features the city’s first proper skate park, along with a pool, soccer fields, picnic areas, and basketball courts.

In 2022, the 13,000-square-foot Willard Park Skatepark was added, designed by Hunger Skateparks to honor local skaters lost too soon, including Ethan Williams—a skateboarder, scholar, and youth advocate tragically killed in 2020. A unique open book structure in the park symbolizes Ethan’s love of learning and legacy of empowerment.

In collaboration with local artists: @hollysimspainting, @kwazarmartin, and @dub.does.art, Hoopbus is fully refurbishing and painting the court to spread the love in Willard Park.

RSVP to our court inauguartation and follow @thehoopbus to see the finished design!

The first thing most people see about the Hoop Bus is the fun and excitement, the fact that we could go viral at any moment. And that side is amazing. But the greater purpose of the Hoop Bus is to go where others don’t, meet people there, and provide lasting impact that goes beyond likes and shares. That is what we’re most proud of.”
