741 Frequency Fest
Hoopbus was on the ground August 30th for Jaylen Brown’s 741 Frequency Fest, his farewell to Boston after a decade with the team where he began his career. What started as a community block party turned into a full-blown celebration, packed with energy and surprise appearances from Lil Jon, Lil Baby, A$AP Ferg and more. The festival was an exhilarating tribute to the city and the fans who showed up for him over the past ten years.
Over the decade, Jaylen Brown became a five-time All-Star, NBA Champion, and Finals MVP, becoming one of the most recognizable faces in Boston sports along the way. The 741 Frequency Fest was a free, all-ages block party at Boston Common, organized by Brown’s 741 Performance brand and the City of Boston to commemorate the decade together.
As part of the celebration, Brown received the key to the city, presented on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for his work in the Black and brown community through initiatives like the 7uice Foundation and the Bridge Program. He was also honored with a street renamed “Jaylen Brown Way,” presented by Mayor Michelle Wu as a lasting reminder of the mark he’s left on Boston both on and off the court.
The Hoopbus team was especially moved by the amount of people from the community who showed up to play hoops one last time to honor a Celtics icon. Seeing a sea of JB7 jerseys pull up to the festival, all spreading love through basketball, was the clearest proof that basketball has a way of bringing everyone together.
“It was such a joy to bring the Hoopbus to JB’s going away party in Boston. The event was paying homage to the lasting legacy that Jaylen Brown left in the city through his commitment to the community. Hoopbus brought the energy! Special shoutout to our team and everyone who shared some positive vibes with us last week.”
